Have the children put the different parts of the monsters face up and take them away again as you read the story.

Craft

Make a silly monster face!

I had wiggly eyes, leftover craft monster face stickers, long strips of construction paper in different colors and paper plates with a hole cut out for the mouth.

We glued the long paper strips to the back of the paper plate to make hair using glue sticks

(you can curl it with a scissor too if you want - this is a grown up activity!)

we added silly eyes and noses and then drew whatever else we wanted on to our silly people.

For my age group not all the parents like talking about monsters/aliens so I toned this storytime down for the littler ones going for the silliness factor and talked about making silly people for the craft.

The story "If you're a monster and you know it" can also be sung to the tune of: "If you are happy and you know it clap your hands"
