Spring Storytime

Books:

Splish Splash Spring by Jan Carr

Mouse's First Spring by Lauren Thompson

All the World by Elizabeth Garton Scanlon(more like a summer book but it tied in well with our storytime)

Craft:

Blossoming cherry tree (This craft idea is NOT original with me)

Print out (or draw) a bare tree.

Pop popcorn and have children glue the popcorn on the tree's branches to make a lovely blossoming cherry tree

using glue sticks. Color as desired.

Optional: use colored tissue paper (pink for cherry blossoms or white) instead of popcorn

Talk about what we see in the spring: Rain! Sunshine! Puddles! Flowers! Buds on Trees! Baby animals!

How do we know it's spring? (Snow has melted, more sunshine, more rain!)
