Mittens Storytime

all songs, fingerplays, and ideas are used for educational purposes only and not for profit.

Where possible, authors are noted.

Books:

Who lives in the Arctic

The Mitten Tree

Three Little Kittens

Things to do with mittens:

Make a snowball, keep your hands warm, fill a mitten with goodies, hold someone's hand, make a puppet, and wave at someone!

Mitten games:

Take all your mittens, put them in a big mixed up pile on the floor. Take turns closing your eyes and drawing out two mittens, when you get two mittens that match, you get to keep them! Keep playing until all the mittens are matched.

Print out small mittens on square pieces of paper and color them different colors (have your child color each set of mittens a different color). Then turn them over and play a matching/memory game to see who can find the colors that match!
